Analytical Approaches for Solving Neutron Transport Problems
نویسندگان
چکیده
The exact solutions for stationary and non-stationary neutron transport equations corresponding to various source functions are presented. The semi-infinite medium is considered to have a specular-reflecting boundary with angular dependent externally-incident flux. Some adjustments were made to agree the neutron transport theory with astrophysical applications.

Comparison between Combined and Separate Approaches for Solving a Location-Routing Problem in Hazardous Materials Transportation
In the case of hazardous materials management, selected routes for carrying hazardous materials (i.e., hazmat) have significant effects on locating hazmat distribution centers. Since, risk and cost are usually considered as two main attributes to determine the best routes, optimized locations are sequentially outlined depending on selected routes. In the present paper, t...
متن کاملMultilevel NDA Methods for Solving Multigroup Eigenvalue Neutron Transport Problems
The nonlinear diffusion acceleration (NDA) method is an efficient and flexible transport iterative scheme for solving reactor-physics problems. This paper presents a fast iterative algorithm for solving multigroup neutron transport eigenvalue problems in one-dimensional slab geometry. The proposed method is defined by a multilevel system of equations that includes multigroup and effective onegr...

OF THE DISSERTATION This study presents physical, computational and analytical modeling approaches for light propagation in luminescent random media. Two different approaches are used, namely (i) a statistical approach: Monte-Carlo simulations for photon transport and (ii) a deterministic approach: radiative transport theory. Both approaches account accurately for the multiple absorption and re...
متن کاملAnalytical solutions for the neutron transport using the spectral methods
We present a method for solving the two-dimensional equation of transfer. The method can be extended easily to the general linear transport problem. The used technique allows us to reduce the two-dimensional equation to a system of one-dimensional equations. The idea of using the spectral method for searching for solutions to the multidimensional transport problems leads us to a solution for al...
متن کاملDeveloping a Bi-level Objective Model of Risk-Cost Trade-off for Solving Locating-Routing Problem in Transportation of Hazardous Material
Allocating and routing problems in the field of transportation engineering are generally solved using the objective function of minimizing transport cost. Transport risk is a main concern in hazardous material transportation, mainly dependent on the vision of decision makers (national and/or local authorities). In this research work, a trade-off approach has been proposed to determine the safes...
